On Friday 3rd February, we were delighted to be celebrating our 30th anniversary, which marks exactly three decades since our first depot in Accrington, Lancashire opened its doors.
As a business we have come an incredibly long way since then, having now expanded to 85+ depots, opened 4 manufacturing hubs dotted around the UK, created and distributed numerous product lines including our very own Rockdoor, HomeView, HomeFrame and HomeLine, and amassed a valuable team of over 1000 people.
To capture the essence of the company from 30 years ago, we have sourced and recreated a replica of the very first GAP LDV ‘sherpa’ van, which was used to deliver the very first PVC-U trims to customers.
Although still working for GAP, around different areas of the north west now, we welcomed back the original five members of staff who helped to set up the company all the way back in 1993 for a further nostalgic touch and to kickstart the celebrations that will last for the entire year, with much more planned over the coming weeks and months.
Joint MD’s, Charles Greensmith and Simon Bird who originally set the company up in February 1993 were proud to have made it this far, and owed their success to both the fantastic team created over the years and their loyal customers:
“There are so many people to be thankful for helping us to get this far, however we have to give a mention to our fantastic customers, many who have been there since the beginning and allowed us to grow our depot network, create new product ranges, and adding to our growing team amongst other areas of the business.
“You come to appreciate a number of different faces over the course of 30 years, and we have so many to be thankful for helping us reach this milestone, so here’s to the next 30!”
