HomeLine Marks 20 Years

HomeLine Marks 20 Years

Back in November 2004 the HomeLine brand was registered as a trademark by GAP, with the intention of it becoming the name of the businesses cellular brand for all things Roofline, Cladding and Trims. As we pass this milestone, we thought we’d take a short trip down memory lane and shed light on how the brand of HomeLine became the success it has become today.

In 2004 GAP was a very different business to what it has become today. A typical depot was 15-17,000 sq ft (or 4 times bigger than today’s footprint) and operated a mini fleet of up to 4 large 7.5 tonne wagons delivering to customers daily. These depots were in larger cities like Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, Birmingham and Leeds.  So, we partnered with sub stockists in smaller towns and villages to sell our products, meaning we needed an independent brand to benefit the customer – so HomeLine was created.

Following its successful launch to customers in 2005, the brand quickly established itself in the market place and went from strength to strength.

But it was 2009 that proved to be the most defining moment of the brands history, when the opportunity arose to take manufacturing in-house of all of HomeLine’s Roofline, Cladding and Trims, when Everwhite in South Wales began to struggle commercially.

GAP were able to secure the skilled jobs of the factory and help them become the sole supplier to the 11 GAP depots there were at the time, whilst also making GAP a vertically integrated business for cellular building products.

Fast forward to today and HomeLine has become a roaring success story of GAP, supplying the 100 + network of depots in the group, stretching from Inverness to Launceston.

Customers from the largest and most respected house builders in the UK, through to small independent roofline, window and door installers have become accustomed to our range of high quality BBA approved building products.

Looking back over the last 20 years of HomeLine’s creation, Charles Greensmith and Simon Bird, GAPs Joint Owners, expressed their delight over this achievement. “We’ve been privileged to work with such a talented team behind the brand and we are very proud of what HomeLine has achieved since being established, but especially since we started manufacturing it ourselves. HomeLine has achieved a great deal already, but we have more exciting developments we look forward to sharing with our customers in 2025”.
